Blanco Riad

25, rue Zawiya, Tetouan, Tanger-Tétouan, Morocco

This beautiful, Spanish-run riad once served as the city's Spanish consulate. During the Spanish protectorate, the palace housed the Pacha, however, the inner courtyard dates back to the 17th century. More recent renovations include shiny, creamy tadelakt walls and a freshening-up of the original carved cedar doors. The artwork decorating the walls is mostly Spanish, and the cuisine served in the restaurant is a modern fusion of Spanish and Moroccan cuisine. The airy patio has cheerful Gaudí-style floor tiles, a light-filled reading area, and an in-house hammam.
