Fodor's Expert Review La Cuisine de Mona

$$ Gueliz and Hivernage Lebanese

Just beyond the fringes of Guéliz, this tiny Lebanese restaurant is a winner on all counts–-fresh, tasty, authentic Lebanese food; a warm welcome; and quirky decor. The big, cheerful personality of Lebanese-born restaurateur Mona is evident as you step into this tiny restaurant. Candy-pink garden tables and lime green walls decorated with fez hats are crammed into every available space including the upstairs mezzanine. The fresh meze platters include hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, marinated chicken wings, stuffed Lebanese bread, and shawarma; it's good-value food, though drinks are pricey. This eatery is popular with many locals and expats, so book in advance. Alcohol is served.
