Fodor's Expert Review Steigenberger Golf Resort

southeast of downtown, about 10 minutes by bus, el-Gouna, Red Sea, 84513, Egypt

In designing this resort, the innovative architect Michael Graves took cues from Egyptian and Bedouin influences, creating a style now known as neo-Nubian. The resort is housed in 10 separate terra-cotta-color buildings, which overlook the lagoon, pool, and the golf course, and the rooms and suites all have great views. In addition to the 18-hole championship golf course, the resort offers a variety of sports for both water and land. The hotel has lagoon beaches and offers a shuttle to a private area of seaside beach.

  • beautiful setting surrounded by lagoons and a golf course
  • lagoon beaches on-site offer a quiet place to relax
  • it's the closest El Gouna hotel to the golf course
  • no-smoking rooms

  • the sea and water sports are a shuttle-bus ride away
