Fodor's Expert Review Felfela

Downtown and Bulaq
Middle Eastern
This Cairo institution is popular with both Egyptians and visitors for good Egyptian food at inexpensive prices. Felfela is a good place to introduce yourself to such Egyptian staples as shorbat ‘ads (lentil soup), which is tasty with a squeeze of lemon in it; taamiya (the local version of falafel); and fuul (stewed fava beans). Felfela serves beer. There's also another Downtown branch on Maydan Ramses.
