In London but not invited to the Royal Wedding? Celebrate at a pub!

Pubs aren’t exactly bars; in Britain they’re also gathering places, conversation zones, and even restaurants (some fancy ones are known as gastro pubs). Pubs are, generally speaking, where people go to meet their friends and catch up on one another’s lives. You can order beer, soft drinks, or tea, and then proceed to mix with the regulars as you wish. Some pubs have restricted hours for children; check with the bartender. See our London guide.
