There’s nothing wrong with sipping a beer or biting into a burger and salty fries by the pool, those are classic, poolside indulgences we’ve all succumbed to before. But some hotels have started to offer luxury treats for grown-ups. From Mojito Sno-Cones to pedicures there are little afternoon pleasures to be had at hotels from Aruba to Mexico, the perfect pairing to all that sun worshipping. Here are 9 poolside delights that are new this summer. All hotels that still think offering sushi rolls by the pool is new and hip should take heed…

What: Mojito Sno Cones

Where: Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Aruba

Mojito sno-cones are available only at the new adults-only pool (dubbed H2Oasis) at Aruba Marriott, which debuted in November and offers WiFi, plush cabanas and a full bar at its 10,000-square-foot terrace. The pool is just steps from the sand and a stylish gem at this 411-room resort, featuring coral-stone pavement and glass mosaic tiles. Not a Mojito fan? There are other alcoholic sno-cones on the menu: banana, strawberry, or raspberry.

What: Massages

Where: Vdara Hotel & Spa, Las Vegas, Nevada

From inside a secluded cabana at Vdara Hotel & Spa, pick from a menu of four 25-minute poolside massages—full-body aromatherapy, hand and foot massage with cold stones, back/neck/shoulder massage, or scalp massage—or choose a 50-minute acupressure full-body massage. Available Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, these massages (provided by Spa & Salon Vdara) use an all-natural skincare line called Akhassa.

Afternoon breaks are perfect when they incorporate a jolt of java, and at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills you get that (mini cappuccinos) and mini fudge brownies while lounging by the pool, which is hidden in this 285-room property. If you want a little respite from the hectic pace in the City of Angels, hunker down in one of six poolside cabanas (available to rent). Otherwise, relaxing among the tropical plants surrounding the pool is kosher—and the espresso incentive is a great way to store up energy for a night out on the town.

Available poolside at Esperanza An Auberge Resort, these gourmet Mexican popsicles (called paletas) are made at the resort using fresh fruit. Choose from beach-inspired flavors like mango, strawberry, coconut, lime, and tamarind. To pair with your sweet treat, take a dip in the resort’s beachfront infinity pool which capitalizes on its perch along the Pacific Ocean.

Alcohol-infused sno-cones at the Gansevoort Park Avenue rooftop bar are prepared in a classic machine that crushes the ice before a bartender adds his or her twist on a cocktail. Choose from Mojito, Margarita, or Cosmopolitan Sno-cones. The hotel’s rooftop bar on the 20th floor celebrates its second summer this year, featuring a 40-foot heated indoor/outdoor pool boasting views of the Empire State Building. At the W Austin you don’t have to forego a sunny afternoon to get a pedicure. The new poolside-pedicure service from AWAY Spa is conducted in a private cabana at the fourth-floor WET Deck overlooking the Olympic-size saltwater pool. Included in the pedicure treatment is a cocktail from WET Deck’s bar and you’re encouraged to hang out afterward to enjoy the pool’s beverage and food service and access to the spa, steam rooms, and gym even if you are not an overnight guest.

Where: Costa d’Este Beach Resort, Vero Beach, Florida

Singer Gloria Estefan’s 94-room resort Costa D’Este Beach Resort, which opened in 2008 and hugs the Atlantic Ocean, believes in pampering under the sun. As a guest you can book a poolside foot massage and enjoy handcrafted Mojito popsicles that continue the Cuban vibe at this property, which reflects Estefan’s Cuban heritage.

What: Jello Shots

Where: Fairmont Newport Beach, Newport Beach, California

Forget college parties: this time, Jello shots are served in style. Available at Fairmont Newport Beach’s third-floor pool (Palms Pool, decked out with tropical plants and VIP cabanas stocked with flat-screen TVs) daily since early June, flavors are rotated weekly. Two popular flavors are rum and cherry, and tequila and lime. Whether you’re tucked into a private cabana or lounging by the pool, it’s all good. The Jello shots are also available during the hotel’s summer-themed party each Sunday through Labor Day with DJs, live bands, and a genuine pool-party atmosphere.
