Big Island Tsunami Update: Hawaii Hotel News

Are you headed to Hawaii soon? While evacuations and precautions thankfully ensured the safety of residents and visitors, the recent tsunami caused some property damage, mainly to waterfront properties and boats. At this writing, two Big Island hotels are closed. If you have a booking at any of these properties, be sure to contact them.

Kona Village Resort
From their website: “Kona Village Resort . . . will close for an extended period of time due to the significant structural and property damage it sustained during last week’s earthquake-generated tsunami. We are very sad to close Kona Village Resort for an extended period of time, but the damage to the property from this natural disaster is severe enough to render it inoperable”

The Four Seasons Resort at Hualalai
From their website: “Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is closed until April 30 due to damage from the recent earthquake-generated tsunami. The Resort sustained damage from the storm surge, which brought water, sand and debris onto the grounds. Clean-up efforts have already begun and we look forward to welcoming guests back to the Resort soon. ”
