Inn at the Presidio
Trendsetter

Tucked in a redwood and eucalyptus forest overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, the Inn at the Presidio is a one-of-a-kind experience in San Francisco. The building, once known as Pershing Hall, served as stomping grounds for military personnel for nearly a century before the base was closed. Now completely renovated and featuring rustic modern furnishings and photos and relics culled from the early 1900s, the inn lures locals and visitors from around the globe. Its near-the-Bay location doesn't hurt either. Visitors can rent bikes, hike to Golden Gate Bridge, or pack a picnic and head to Crissy Field. But the best part might just be the outdoor fire pit, the ideal spot for a glass of wine after a long day at play.
