Yorkshire Experts Please Respond -- (Morgana?)

Hello - I will be leaving York early on a Tuesday afternoon, and must be in N. Wales (near Bangor) by Thursday evening. (My Wales sightseeing will begin on Friday morning.) There seems to be so much to see inbetween...Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire Dales, Haworth and the Bronte moors, etc. I am wondering which route to take in order to see as many of these wonders as possible, and also where to stop for the one overnight en route. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks.

Hi - I posted this message several days ago, but have not had any responses; so am posting it again in the hopes that I can tie in to Helene W's similar post and get some ideas. Morgana, Janisj, anyone? Thanks.

Hi - As you can see from Helene's thread - Morgana is off celebrating Mothering Sunday. She'll probably see this when things settle down (my, she sure id popular today )

Anyway, how long are you going to be in York before you leave for Wales? I ask because Fountains Abbey/Studley Royal are quiet close to York and are easily visited from the city. Going there on the Tuesday afternoon would pretty much finish off that day off and you'd only have Wed to tour explore elsewhere.

one more thing - since you didn't click "United Kingdom" when you posted this, Morgana may not see it. (Don't know if she mostly looks for UK threads or cruises the whole Europe forum) You might want to post a link to this thread on HeleneW's

Something like "Morgana, I posted a silmilar question here http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34964877

Would you please take a look and give me some suggestions"

Thanks janisj - I am still figuring the ins and outs of this forum and had no idea you could narrow down your topic like that...anyway I reposted my message with a click on UK so hopefully more UK specialists will see it!

Re: our visit to York; we will be arriving late morning on Monday and having to leave early Tuesday afternoon, so I'm thinking we'll only have Tuesday afternoon to see Fountains Abbey - we will likely then drive until it starts to get dark (when does it get dark there in late October?) and try to find lodging for the night. Then on Wednesday we'll head for N. Wales and maybe stop in Haworth en route??? Though I still feel like we are missing something by not taking the northern route through the Dales and through Hawes, Wensleydale etc. Too much to do, too little time -- what else is new?
