Positive Rome Hotel Experience (Gea di Vulcano): Sent Misplaced Sweater Free of Charge
Hi folks, I posted this review on Tripadvisor. I normally don't bother with hotel reviews, but their kindness deserves my taking a few minutes to promote them in public. They are currently #54 on TripAdvisor:
[TripAdvisor Review]
I spent one night at this hotel in Rome on the night of Good Friday. I had a single and it was excellent value. The hotel had a separate night entrance at 51 via Napoli, so returning late at night wasn't a problem.
In my sleepiness and haste in the morning (I had a 7:20 am flight out of FCO and arranged for a car pickup at 5:15 am), I misplaced my sweater in the hotel. The hotel sent it to a friend in London free of charge (postage was 4.15 euros) and refused to charge my credit card for this service.
I am very impressed and pleased that I landed at this hotel as it was very difficult to book a hotel in Rome around Easter.

I was surprised by how nice they were.
I wanted to send them something, but now I'm leaning towards taping a 10 euro bill on a thank you card and sending it to them -- if I can find a 10 euro bill.
I like the sweater very much (the friend who received the package said that as long as she saw it, she knew it was mine -- it cost over 100 euros when I bought it in Paris last winter).
