I can't find my post!

I have occasionally posted a question that I cannot retrieve, even with a search using my screen name...Any suggestions?

All your posts should come up when you click on your name at the top of the screen. I say "should" because you never know about the search functions here.

Just click on your name and all of your previous posts will show up.

Duh! Thanks for the tips...I didn't know I could just click on my name. I'm still missing a post of a question regarding experiences with bestfares.com. In the past when I've re-posted, i get a lot of replies like, "DON'T re-post your message over and over again!" Thank you for your help!

Just one of the things that I'm not sure how new posters are supposed to learn. Nowhere to my knowledge does Fodors tell you how to do that.

That's just another reason why I get upset when some of us politely try to suggest to new posters how to make the site work and we get labeled as "self-appointed monitors" or worse.

I often find when I click my name, it brings up old info. Click the Refresh button and that will bring it up to date.

NatalieM:

Please see my reply on http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34598057

And perhaps take my suggestion (there) - - to e-mail this thread to [email protected] - - perhaps it will get some action from them on this unforgiveable oversight. I have complained about it for months, if not years. It is the single most frustrating thing to newcomers, it seems to me. And it would be so simple for Fodors to inform each new registrant when they send out that e-mail confirming your registration (and perhaps a reminder the first time you actually make a new post). Both could be entirely automated.

Best wishes,

Rex

I'm in a campaigning mood... how about EVERY person here e-mail this thread to [email protected] - - maybe that would make a difference?

Frankly, if we're going to pick a fight, I'd rather get rid of the ads.

If the ads go, probably the site would soon follow; something has to generate income for the operation.

But I think Rex is right about Fodor's needing to tell new registrants about how to find their posts. Surely that can't be very difficult to add to the information that already goes out.

NatalieM...I also have found that when I click on my name some of the posts are missing or are not updated. I go to any of my posts and then click on my name again and this refreshes them all. Hope this helps you as well.

Now, where the heck is your PART 3??? hee hee

To be clear, Underhill, I only mean the flashing rolling ones on the right hand side. I don't mind them being there if they're static, but........

Thanks for all your input and patience in "training"...I thought I was just missing something obvious. I promise I will stop all these frivolous posts and finish my trip report tonight!!
