Mappy.com

How do I find rest areas (the large ones with shops and restaurants) along the autoroute using mappy.com? I know I did if a while back, but now I can't find the right place to click on for the information. Ditto for viamichelin.com.

I really, really didn't post this message twice--the first one disappeared from the screen before I clicked post, and after that I don't know what happened.

On mappy, when the itinerary comes up, look under "detailed maps" and click on the icon to the right.

Hi Ron,

Are the icons that look like trees the rest stops?

I think Ira is heing his clever self. Those are actually little telephone poles, direct lines to the Hotel Bonaparte.

Hi,

On the detailed map, at the "Town" level, as you traverse the road you will find icons that look like a fir tree and a picnic table.

Are these the rest stops?

Possibly, but the stops I'm after are the ones that have a bridge across the autoroute, with restaurants and shops on both sides, along with gas stations and sometimes ATMs. Very useful on a long trip.

Ron,

That's a great help; I'll see what my computer can do. The folks at Viamichelin.com were no help at all.

Try this one:

http://www.day-tripper.net/zxo/zxo2m...autoroute.html

Click on "highways," then choose an autoroute. A chart with several categories will come up.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the link to france autoroutes.

The icon with the tree on mappy.com is the location of the rest stops.

Franceautoroutes tells you what is there.
