For me its Luxembourg. Nothing wrong with it. Just found it pretty boring. May have been our mood so please don't take offense if you are a citizen.

SEVILLE
Nothing special. Loud town and filthy cathedral. There are many more beautiful places in Spain

I'll add Andorra, and probably Liechtenstein to grimmy's Luxembourg as well. They're all three countries for novelty's sake only.

We ought to seek sovereignty for Floyd County, Indiana where I live. Tourism would double. Of course, that wouldn't take much to do that!

Chagrined to read the remarks about Sevilla though. I was there for less than 2 hours (arrived too late, and needed to keep going to get to Fuengirola, on a day when I bit off more kilometers than I could complete). I was always figuring it was worth a second chance. I actually have not been back to Spain in all in the 11 years that have ensued. No doubt there is plenty more of the country I need/want to see.

Best wishes,

Rex

I know I'll take heat for this, but for me it is Paris.

I have been there 4 times: in the winter, fall, and spring.

I didn't particularly like the food.
Yes, the city is pretty, but it does not inspire me.

I keep going back thinking I am missing something as people on this forum rave about it. Maybe i should just accept that it doesnt speak to me.
To each his own.

Queenie, although I don't understand why, my mother feels the same as you about Paris. You said it right, to each his/her own.

Queenie, what city/place does speak to you in a special voice?

Calamari, why so down on London?

Degas, off the top of my head, places that have inspired me:
The glow and warmth of Dubrovnik.
Berlin took my breath away
Barcelona ? Las Ramblas, La Famaligia ? Wow!
Patmos, Greece where the book of Revelations was inspired
The people and food of Turkey
Northern Italy ? Turin, Milan, Verona ? no where is food better
Cairo with its history and fabulous people
Dar es Salaam Tanzania and the Zanzibar archipelago. Amazing food, music and people.

After considerable thought, I can't think of a single place I wouldn't give a second chance!

My first reaction was Capri. I felt it was overly crowded (and I usually don't mind crowds) but then again I was only there for a day trip. So, I would give it another shot, as long as I stayed over night so that I got a different sense of the island.

Second, I would say Florence, it's not that I didn't like it. I did like but I didn't get a special feeling from it. But once again, I think I was tired and hot (was there in early July), so I think it would be worth a second look.

But then I thought of Pisa, and definitely, been there, done that. Though since it was my first time in Italy, I felt it was a must see and the duoma, baptistry and the tower together as you first walk in was very impressive. The sun was shining just right and there seemed to be a glow coming from the whole area. But I can't see a reason to go back again, unless I was with someone who had never seen it before and I was being a cooperative travel companion.

Louvre. If I lived in Paris, I can see myself returning to see some favorites or touring exhibitions from time to time. But if I am only visiting Paris for anything shorter than two weeks, I'll skip it. I prefer Orsay anyway.

After Queenie's beating for saying, "Paris", is over; I'll be next.
I wouldn't return to Rome. It was interesting and I had always wanted to go there. I loved the Coliseum, the Forum and the Vatican but when we left Rome I felt a strange sense of relief.
Maybe I had a bad past life there, who knows. I would return to Italy again and again.

I have to join the Luxembourg/ Liechenstein/ Brussels crowd. BORING is all that comes to mind when I think back. Add to the list Le Havre in France.

I agree with Queenie. I have been there a few times, it does not inspire me either.
I love the art and architecture but I prefer to explore other places.

queenie, you have a great list there. Been to a few of them myself and would go back in a minute!

Turkey is on my shortlist as I've heard many good things about it.

Definitely Acapulco...except for the deep sea fishing it was a not a place I'd want to return to..but then any "beachy" resort isn't on my lists.

I even liked Brussels!!!!!!!!!Great food and antiques!

About the only place that I have done an overnight stay that I wouldn't return to is Orange, Texas.

Although, I am told that it has improved since 1967.
