best credit card
I don't want to use my United Visa anymore because it is always so hard to find the frequent flyer seats I earn by shopping. Do any of you have a Visa or Master Card to suggest that gives one point for each dollar spent to be used for any airline, one for one? I love my American Express Starwood for this reason (got 2 tickets to Sicily/Malta for 75,000 points which should have cost 100,000 points. Yes there is an annual fee, but with that 25% bonus it is a real deal. I charge everything and pay it all off that same month; son's tuition included). But so many places don't take American Express that I'm looking for a new Visa or Master Card. Ideas?

Not sure if this fits the bill exactly, but Capital One's No Hassle card offers miles that can be used on any airline (not sure what the miles-to-dollars-spent ratio is though) -- no annual fee -- plus they don't charge any fees for using the card overseas.

Why not just get a cash-back credit card and forget about airline miles? There are CC's out there that offer anywhere between 1%-5% cash back. IMO, better to have the cash in my pocket and buy whatever ticket I want with whichever airline I want.

I use the AA mileage card. I got 25000 miles with the first 705 spent (must do that within the first 4 months).
I pay it off every month due to the craptastic interest. But I like getting the miles. I already have enough for one of my trips for next year
