We were on the Viking Var. I read a variety of reviews before I left and had some concerns. The concerns from negative reviews was unfounded. The ship was extremely clean, the staff magnificent. Always helpful, and the waiters eager to please. The food was amazing and plentiful. We had a superb cruise director, Tanja. The cruise was a nice blend of relaxing and activity. We found a group of 7 other couples and had a blast! There was a mixed review

of the land tour guides. Some really good, others not as good. For anyone concerned about going in winter, don't be. We were glad that we did. We avoided big crowds when walking on narrow streets and really appreciated that. We bundled up for cold and it wasn't as cold as we feared. We enjoyed 40 and 50 degrees in December. Yummy! I miss the food the most! Excellent cuisine. It was a nice cabin. Large enough for the time we spent in there. The bathroom very small and had trouble figuring out how to flush the toilet! We didn't really participate much in activities. We did a few things with the large group we formed but wasn't worried about the ship entertainment as we were occupied having fun with the people we met. I found the Place excursion expensive for what we saw. Not worth the 100 euros. We did enjoy the concert which included dancers and opera singers which we wouldn't have thought we would like. It was a blast and glad we did it. Wish I could do it again. Truly relaxing and fun.
