Zipline tour then Haleakala planning question (Maui)?
 

We will be visiting Maui this April. I'm trying to plan out a day where we will start out with breakfast at the Kula Lodge, followed by the Skyline Eco-tour zipline, then continue on to explore Haleakala before heading back to our hotel in Wailea. I'm really not sure how to plan the timing of these activities.

If we plan on a 9:30 breakfast at the Lodge, will that give us enough time to get to an 11:30 zipline tour? How long will it take to drive from Kula Lodge to Skyline tours?

If we schedule an 11:30 zipline tour, approximately when will we be finished? Will we still have enough time to continue to the top of Haleakala without being rushed? I want to be able to be on our way back to Wailea before the sun begins to set, so we are not driving down in the dark.

If anyone has done these activities on the same day, how did you plan out your schedule? Any suggestions on how to make this work without overdoing it? Thanks!

Never heard of the zipline tours on Maui. Can you contact the zipline tour company and ask them questions?

we did the zip line in july (absolutely loved it!!) and it took maybe an hour and a half all together so i'm sure you'd have time to go up to haleakala- maybe even stay for sunset? sorry we didn't eat at kula lodge so i can't answer that part

toncasmo - I'm glad you had fun! I wasn't sure about it at first, but I just went ziplining here in Michigan last week and thought it was a blast. Now I can't wait to do it on Maui!

where did you go in Michigan??? I live outside of detroit.

I remember coming down from Haleakaka we passed the zipline place, but don't remember where it is in relation to Kula Lodge. But we also stopped at Kula Lodge for lunch, so think you'll be good with your plan.

LindaSus- I was at a camp in Fenton last week with a group of kids and it was one of the programs they offered. I think I had more fun than the kids! I don't know of anything open to the public.

I had never heard of this so I went online and tried to book today, but they are completely booked until November 28. Every shift.

Darn! It looked so fun!

We tried to book this when we got to Maui. they book about a week in advance, so make your reservations before you go!

you can be put on a waiting list and most people we talked to said that when they were on the list they usually always got to do it. alot of people book before they leave and then have second thoughts or something. so might be a good idea to do that!
