Pelican Bay, Naples, Florida/ older teens

We will be in the Pelican Bay area of Naples, Florida for one month soon. Are there any special "little known" DON"T MISS activities/ experiences/ that you loved which are not included in all the tour books?

Also, we will have college "men" with us. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much!!!

Suzy

Be sure to go to Clam Pass during a flow tide & ride the current.
Bring along pool noodles.

Parking at the end of Pine Ridge is limited so get there early. You can also rent Kayaks in the same are - not sure exactly where.

Also consider renting kayaks at Barefoot Beach and exploring the back bays & mangroves.

We owned a condo in Pelican Bay for five years.

Clam Pass is a good suggestion. Naples Town Pier is an excellent place to hang, and because beaches in Florida are all public, they can walk all the way to the Inlet (maybe Keewaydin?) through the backyards of the very rich ($60 million houses).

They are more likely to find girls/women their own age on the north end of Pelican Bay, near Vanderbilt Beach and the Ritz Carlton. Further south is likely to be mostly much younger girls vacationing with grandma. They can take the tram system pretty much anywhere they need to go, and the walk from one end of Pelican ?Bay to the other is only 3 miles. There is a movie theater in the strip mall on Vanderbilt Beach Road.

If they haven't been to the Everglades, the Turner River crossing on 441E is the alligator capital of Florida and an easy day trip. In fact, Miami Beach is an easy day trip, but you don't want to drive back after dark because of critters in the road. Everglades City had a colorful history of drug smuggling until the entire male population of the town was arrested. It is a perfectly safe, but funky, place today.

Another possibility is charter fishing. I think s lot of the boats leave from down near Tin ?City, but I could be wrong.
