Zion National Park Lodging
My sister and I are visiting Zion for two nights, and the Zion Lodge is not available. We are trying to decide between the Cliffrose and the Desert Pearl. Does anyone know if one is better (nicer, more amenities, better location) than the other. They are close to the same price. Thank you, Inor

That article about Desert pearl was from 2005, which I believe pre-dates the Cliffrose.
We stayed at DP in 2008 and thought it was just great. Location can't be beat, pool is fantastic, and room was super comfortable. |
Thanks for your replies. It sounds like we can't go wrong with the Desert Pearl, and you guys don't know how Cliffrose compares.

We just got back from Zion and can't say enough good things about Desert Pearl. I have a trip report out there you can read where I talk about this. It took us almost an hour to get from Desert Pearl to the Riverside walk but no other hotel is significantly closer. We are not familiar with Cliffrose but the staff, amentities, view and rooms at Desert Pearl would bring us back. Great hotel.

DP gets compliments on here all the time.

I concur with the above comments about Desert Pearl. We stayed there last year and it was fantastic. It is on the main bus route. Fantastic place to stay

We also had a great experience at Desert Pearl.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

We stayed at Desert Pearl in 2009. It's a great place. Very comfortable. Our room was on ground level and was perfect. We will stay there again if we get back out to Zion. The shuttle stops right outside.

And there's nothing like staying inside the park.
Inpark lodging fills up many months in advance because the tours book blocks of rooms. As you get within the last month or so people and tours start to cancel rooms. I've always gotten the rooms I wanted. Just call, call, call. Several times a day. Xantera. |
We stayed at the Desert Pearl several years ago. It was so wonderful and well located. If you request a room with the river view it is very nice as it runs right behind the DP and you might see deer. I can't imagine any hotel could be better than the Desert Pearl.

DP is very comfortable. We've never stayed at Cliffrose but people like its proximity to the park. I believe it is the closest lodging outside the park, and you can walk to the Visitor Center shuttle.
