Zion Canyon in Jan.
 

I had planned on going to Zion Canyon on Jan. 22 but I'm getting concerned about the weather. I check the weather conditions on a lot of different sites but I was wondering how the road conditions would be if there happens to be ice or snow during that weekend. I like to hear from someone who's been to the canyon in the winter. How were the driving conditions and did you enjoy the visit?

I've been in December and I've been in April when they had 2 inches of snow!

Right now you can't tell what the weather will be like on Jan. 22. I've been during all kinds of weather and even when the weather is bad, the park is magnificant.

Is this trip JUST to Zion, or is Zion part of a bigger trip? If Zion is just part of a bigger trip, I personally wouldn't cancel that part until I could see the weather projections a week before you go.

I'm going to Vegas and I'm going to Zion just to get a taste of Southern Utah. I'll be taking another trip to the southern region in the near future in the late spring or early fall. I think it will be nice to see the canyon in the winter since I'll be so near the area and I'd like to get a taste of the area. I'll be checking the weather as the time gets closer, but I just wanted to hear from someone who had been in the winter. I hope I get to make this side trip. Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the websites. I'm going to enjoy reading the posts on both sites. The photos on your website are great! I really liked the ones of Lake Powell. Can't wait to see these areas for myself. Your moose and Dakota are soooooo cute!
