How many have you been to?

:)

How about you Scarlett? Tell us and we'll tell you. OK?

I surprised myself that I've done 7 of them. Remember the days when eating in the hotel dining room was strictly a last resort? My how times have changed as these are many of the best restaurants in the country.

I was surprised that The Windsor Court in New Orleans wasn't on the list -- actually a better total experience than some of the others here.

I'm also surprised how long it has been since we've eaten as some of these. These are not just some "flash in the pan" trendy places, but have become true classics.

Duh, never mind. I looked again and there it was #15 The Windsor Court.

So make that 8 for me.

I'm absolutely shocked that I've been to any restaurants listed but I've actually been to 5. I like good food but am usually too cheap to go to these places. I do have to admit, my father took me to 4 of the 5! Thanks, Dad!

Wow all those Las Vegas restaurants and they forgot the buffet at Circus Circus!

8 for me and they were all very memorable meals.

For some people a hotel restaurant is still a "last resort" and it is probably that kind of thinking which robbed them of great dining experiences then just as it does now.

And to think, there are several DISNEY hotel restaurants included, too.

Neopolitan Apr 15th, 2006 06:48 AM

Is two "several", or am I missing one or more Disney ones?

I must admit I was surprised to see Victoria and Albert's still on the list. We've eaten there a couple of times -- but the last must have been 10 years ago. I've only heard reports that it is far from what it used to be.

Their top restaurant ever was the tiny Empress Lily -- long gone. It was decided that no matter how hard they tried and no matter what they charged, it wasn't a vialble business to operate such a tiny very high end experience. It was indeed memorable.

Sorry, I meant the Empress ROOM, atop the Empress Lily. It changed slightly a few times, but always required jackets for men, and always featured their signature veal chop stuffed with oysters. As Janice on Friends would say --- "OH - MY - GOD!"
