Your thoughts about Mexico?

Yes, I'm on the right forum, lol. I was married in Puerto Vallarta, and would like to return at some point when I can plan the trip and re-celebrate out marital start.

I am wondering what some of you think in regards to Mexico these days. With the border situation always in the news,it is a political issue(which makes it interesting/dangerous to start posts about), and there are certainly many places around the world that people visit irregardless of poverty and politics.

Anyway, I'll be interested in any responses. Are you planning a trip there now? Have you been there recently and heard any local opinions, or was it just vacation as usual? Thanks, J.

If you're not going to a border town, you'll be just fine.

Traveling in Mexico to places such as Puerto Vallarta is perfectly safe. Have a great time.

I've been to Puerto Vallarta a few times and it seemed like any other city - just keep your wits about you...no dark alleys at 3 AM.

I don't know about near the border - but we stayed near Loreto (northern part of Baha on Sea of Cortez) in February. Loved it & the people. Of course, that was before all the current happenings.
