No I was basing it on US dollars when I stated that I found the meals at the Wick Inn to be overpriced. No refills on the $2 iced tea. $10 - US for a bowl of soup. And nearly $20 - US for a chicken lunch. A bill for 3 people at lunch last summer was nearly $90 - US and none of us had alcohol and we only ordered 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, a bowl of soup and 3 iced teas.

Land's Inn at the tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown gets our vote. Very eclectic and fantastic view.

The Denton Inn in Denton Texas (just north of Dallas). Each room is uniquely furnished. One room has an actual car that has been retrofitted to accommodate a bed.

Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone is a huge old log lodge. It is the largest log structure in the world. Even the bannisters and other woodwork are made of curvy tree branches. HUGE stone fireplace in the lobby. I can just sit there for hours and take it all in. Yes, it is old--some rooms don't even have bathrooms. But that adds to the charm for me.

Turkey Inn in Turkey Tx, (home of Bob Wills) is an early 1900's railroad hotel. All the decor is from the period, including claw foot tubs and iron beds. They invented sweet potato pancakes that you can now buy in grocery stores. This is an small town in west texas that grows a lot of sweet potatoes in the area.

The Four Columns Inn, Newfane, Vermont. Fabulous chef and beautiful room. Also, Pam and Gorty (innkeepers) are the best.

I agree with Natchez. This lovely town is covered up in huge antebellum homes, many of which are B&B's. Mid-march, they have Spring Pilgrimage with most of the homes on tour and everyone dressed in 1800's clothes.

My husband and I were married up at Mt. Charleston, Neveda, just outside of Las Vegas. It's part of the Toiyabe Nat'l Forest and the cabins up there are great. They're on the side of a cliff, w/ mtns. 360 degrees around. They have a small deck off the back, with a down bed, hot tub and 4-sided glass wall fireplace in the middle. Very romantic and only about $100-$150 a nite.

Wow never thought about staying in Los Alamos. Kind of a sleepy hole in the wall area that you pass along the way to San Luis Obispo.

The Hermitage Inn in Vermont (can't remember the town). Excellent restaurant and out of this world wine cellar & shop. the owner can help with wine selections. Not pretentious at all. They raise their own game. The owner is a hunter and there are English setters hanging around the inn.
