Your favorite restaurants in Orlando please!!!

We are going to treat my liitle boy to an extended weekend in Orlando for his 4th birthday. We essentially have 4 nights in which to dine out, one of which we have already made a priority seating for "Chef Mickey's" in Disney for his actual birthday. So what are you top 3 picks for eating out? What are other great kid friendly/great food type places that you would recommend. Our kids are used to dining out and are pretty good when it comes to restaurant behaviour but I would not take them to anything too swanky or romantic. We are thinking about Benihana at the Hilton in Downtown Disney. The Rainforest Cafe is out as both our kids were petrified of the thunder and animals! (go figure) Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Usually I'd recommend Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge but with your little ones I think BOMA, also at the Animal Kingdom Lodge would fill the bill. This is quickly becoming the most popular place in WDW and with good reason. The Lodge is magnificent and it is situated in the middle of an african zoo. It will be a lovely evening for all of your family. Check it out.

Our family loved dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue. Very entertaining and pretty good all you can eat chicken and ribs. Another entertaining restaurant is the 50s Prime Time Cafe in MGM. The waiters/waitresses will "pick" on you if you are not minding your manners and may make you sing, stand in the corner or may announce to the entire room your faux pas. A lot of fun!! A restaurant that will be sure to please everyone is the dinner buffet at Cape May Cafe (in the Beach Club). They have a good selection of foods and you are never rushed. Tempura Kiku in Epcot (Japan) has wonderful shrimp tempura and the service is fast. Hope that helps!!

gosh, I've always found the food in WDW to be quite hideous. We enjoyed much more the themed restaurants near Universal. The Mexican restaurant there has a floor show with flamenco dancers -- pretty costumes, even the little kids were just enthralled last time we were there (fairly early of an evening.) They also served great Margaritas, which go down real good after a day with costumed cartoon people! Downtown Disney will have places with better food than you can find in the park.

I would have to agree with Uh-oh on that. The food in WDW was overpiced for the quality(which one expects I guess)
One dish I would definately go back for however is the Lobster Soup at Coral Reef in Epcot. We didnt order it but our waiter insisted before we left that we had to try some...still kicking myself for not having more.
One place that was worth the splurge not so much for the food (which was ok)
but for the perks. The dinner and show at The Brown Derby was something I would do again. You get dinner and reserved seats for Fantasmic. While everyone else waits forever to get decent seats you can eat and then hit Tower of Terror and Rock and Roller Coaster one more time before sliding into great seats without the wait!
There is another place that offers the same kind of deal at MGM but I cant remember which one.(Sci-Fi drive in??)
Go to Brown Derby when you first arrive at the park(call in before dont do it) ask for dinner and show!
