Your "Brooklyn's Best Restaurants, especially Italiano ! , PLEASE !!

Will be in Brooklyn this coming week and would love to have your best recommendations. Staying near Park Slope, but would love to see a few different neighborhood, if good ristoranti there.

Also, may have a larger party (7-8?) one night -- best place for that?
Thank you, Fodorite Foodies.

Tommaso's in Bensonhurst.

And for pizza you must go to DiFara in Midwood.

Marco Polo on Court Street in Carroll Gardens is an excellent restaurant.

ekscrunchy - my husband worked in Tommaso's as a teenager. We went past last night and wondered how old he must be. (and if he still sings opera!!)

Not Italian, but for authentic Mexican, try "Bonita" in Williamsburg.

Man, are you in luck that I came upon this thread.

Al Di La (248 5th Ave/ Carrol Street, Park Slope) is one of the top 5 Italian restaurant in the New York metro area. The Venetian-inspired dishes are very, very good.

In case you have an NY Times online account, here's their most recent take on this:

BTW, the last few times that we've been, we had to wait by their next door bar for a table - no reservations policy.

Oh, and you have to heed ekscrunchy's Di Fara's recommendation. Dom di Fara is an unparalleld pizza artist. Published reports say that he is about 65, but he looks and moves like he's 85. God bless him.

In Park Slope for Fish, see:

An offshoot of orig. Mary's Fish Camp
in Greenwich Village, the lobster
roll is outstanding.

BTW, both rests. are listed in the 2007 Michelin Guide.
