Yountville Napa Valley Nov GTG

>< Hello all!

I know it's Saturday and nobody is at work to goof off on Fodor's but it's time to circulate the first salvo regarding the GTG in Yountville for the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov 26th.

The event is called Festival of Lights and it has a lot of wineries, breweries, restaurants, arts-crafts, music, etc.

Even tho it rained last year I think those of us that did attend may have had a good time. O

Pile on if interested.
I thought Cucina ala Carte did us good last year but I'm open for suggestions for this very informal gathering.

If we had a clue as to the number of people, I'm sure I can work something out with Gordon's. The owner is one of my SIL's best friends.

Well finally! Thought you guys were planning this gala behind my back. Noooo, I'm not paranoid. So far no guests arriving that day, so Mark and I may just make it this year. Start doing your fair weather dance, Kal. (Insert dancing turkey Smiley)

Kal ... ha! Obviously, you don't work for the government. If I ever dared to goof off on Fodor's at work, I'd be tossed out on my A**!

By the way, I loved your idea on a previous post about saving hotel electronic key cards. Really wish I could go back and retrieve all of those I've turned in. It would make a really cool travel collage.

(Good luck with your GTG. I've only been through Yountville twice -- had brunch there in June '03 -- seemed like a neat place.)

I sent an email link to this thread to everyone on my list from last October's GTG. A few bounced back, so if you didn't get it, and you want to remain on the list, email me directly. Be sure to give me your fodors screen name, your email address, and at least part of your "real" name. Thanks!

We're in! Rain or Shine!
The Cucina was a blast AND I like Marilyn's idea about Gordon's.
Think we can set an RSVP date ?

Hi, Kal,

Sounds like a great event. I'll be in Puerto Vallarta that week, so will have to miss this year. But, I hope to be able to attend in 2005.

Thanks also to Marilyn for sending an email out on this. Sounds like a wonderful day out -- enjoy it!

I'd love to come as long as my folks don't decide to do something special that day. Probably 80% chance I can make it

(Thanks for the e-mail Marilyn. I've been off Fodors for a few days - there is some sort of conflict and the site freezes my computer - so I have to check in using a pc at my Mom's house)

Aloohaaa,

Since I forgot everybody doesn't have my e-mail addy:
kalkahuna@
ceoexpress.com

We'd love to get a "dinner head count" so we can get a ressie at one of my faves, Gordon's. We will put a deadline on it as the date approaches.

Send me an RSVP so we can keep the lovely Marilyn from pulling her beautiful head o' hair out trying to keep track of a "kaloperation".

Faina-I can't drive either but I'm an excellent putter!
Bets-I'm always dancing when I hear from you!\/
Dwood-You're right. I failed the background check!
Kir-You're going to let Prince Albert out of the can?
Pinot Pammer-I'm due for a nice pinot for Mon Night Football!
As for all others, look forward to meeting you..either this year or maybe at a SF GTG soon.
