Hi Guys! Looks like a fabulous time was had by all! Good weather, great friends and delicious food & beverages!
I never saw such large glasses of Limoncello in my life!! No wonder you guys were feelin' it the next morning!
Budman's wine is delicious! Glad you guys enjoyed it too!
Plan your trips to NYC now, and come to the NJ/NY GTG on May 21st!

tpatricco, the BIG glass of limoncello - I thought "WOW". A lot of limoncello for sure. I would have been passed out under the table. LOL
Wouldn't it be fun if the "east coast and west coast" could get together for a GTG? What a crazy fun time that would be. Have a good week.

Ah, yes to be named after a
biblical king.
A Jereboam is 4 bottles if it is champagne, 6 botles if still wine and 4.5 liters European.
Most US Jereboam's are 5 liters and approx 6-6.5 bottles.
I still am laughing imagining easyt
wielding those 2 bottles out the door.
he-he.
LoveItaly, here are the tasting notes
(sans graphics) on Budman's delicious
wine.

Thank you razzledazzle (love your nick). My German born maternal grandfather had vinyards in Lodi way back when. Lodi has always had a special spot in my heart for me.
And always wondered if it was named after Lodi in Italy (which I have not visited). Have a good week.

OK, if I'm going to be able to tell Santa that I was a good girl this year, I have to confess that EasyTraveler did not drink that huge glass of limoncello (let alone 3) by herself. In fact, there were rumors that it was lemonade...

Lemonade??? Lemonade??? That was lemonade!!!!????
Then it must have been Budman's Bordeaux that put me under...
Marilyn, I've got one California King bed, one ordinary King bed, one full bed, a couch that pulls out to a queen, and then lots of floor space. Two bathrooms only, so it'll be take a number time, but everyone is certainly welcome to stay overnight. I'd like to see what kind of PJs Kal wears!
I'll let you know which dates in March are out for me - soon! (Just returned from the last of my Thanksgiving feasts - pleasssse, no more food or wine until March!)

I'm on for your house, easytraveler but I'll sleep anywhere but the floor.(Princess always feels the pea
Thank you for the photos Marilyn and Phil. You did seem to capture the feeling.
I laughed quite hard at R5's tale of telling friends just where she meet those Yountville folks. I was talking with my sister by phone on our way to Yountville. She thinks the whole thing is very weird and imagined us all with pocket protectors and no social graces. Hah..says I..we fodorites wrote the book on social graces. 1)fill your glass 2)raise your glass 3)drink what's in your glass 4)return to step 1
Imagine my surprise when Peg says "Hey there's Sipowitz"..I'm thinking so who is Sipowitz until I spied him there among us mortals waiting to pee.
Thank you again to Kal and the lovely Mrs. Kal~it was a lovely soiree.
Strike is now two days off. Sutters around the bay area are going out. These are nasty times for the rank and file and nastier times in health care. Thank your local health care worker for continued good health and work hard for a single payer system. It's going to be a mean strike I fear. Oh to be in the South of France.
Lastly, Budman thank you agin. Your wines are quite delicious. I did sample the Bordeaux and it was enough to offer my marriage proposal.

PamSF, being very famaliar with Sutter in Vallejo I understand your pain. I am truly sorry about the strike, especially at this time of the year.
My thoughts are with you, all of you.
My respect has always been with the health care workers, not the "bean counters". Take care and best wishes.

Wonderful photos Marilyn! It looks like you all had a wonderful time together and it's nice to put some faces with names. The company and the food, along with the wonderful beverages all looked lovely.
easytraveler, I had to wonder about that big glass of limoncello! Glad to hear you didn't have three of them.
So, is Dennis Franz a Fodorite that we are unaware of?

Aloha all!
What fun you all had! Was looking for your report yesterday... figured no one probably felt like sitting at the computer
LoveItaly, "Wouldn't it be fun if the "east coast and west coast" could get together for a GTG? What a crazy fun time that would be."
I think an east/west coast GTG should certainly meet in the middle. Chicago!!!! Now there's an idea >
<
I would've loved to join all of you! Mr. Makai was getting a kick out of the whole "GTG" idea.
Pam, "She thinks the whole thing is very weird and imagined us all with pocket protectors and no social graces." LOL
What a lovely group... it's great to put faces with names. Thanks for sharing the fun!

It looks like a good time was had by all (maybe too good of a time based on the hangover reports). Is Kal wearing a "Betty Ford Clinic" baseball cap?
Great photos, captions and reports of the event!

Many thanks to Kal and Mrs. Kal for arranging everything and making us feel so welcome. It was wonderful (briefly) meeting everyone and I'm sorry we couldn't visit longer and enjoy the festivities. Everyone was so warm and friendly that we can't wait until the next GTG, when we can actually stay and talk and eat and ... DRINK!

Mike,
A GTG in san Miguel de Allende sounds fabulous! I wish I could just hop on a jet plane and be there right now.
Keep us posted on that GTG!!! I still say nothing rivals the wild and crazy GTG that was held in St. Louis earlier this Fall!!!

Great photos Marilyn!
So nice to see all of our old Fodorite Friends, and meet some new ones.
Giant hugs and kudos to Kal & Mrs. Kal for making the arrangements. We had a blast, and look forward eagerly to the next GTG!!
