Hi Bob,

That would normally be a difficult decision because both National Parks are truly magnificient! We loved Yosemite, and it's only 4 hours away from one of our favorite cities, San Francisco.

However, considering the time of year you're traveling, the weather can be really questionable in both parks...especially Yosemite. Because of that, I would definitly go to Sequoia. (And at that time of year, parts of it may also be questionable...)They have a couple really nice new lodges in the Park, and their restaurants were very good. Lots of good hiking, lots of outrageous trees!! Also spend a day in Kings Canyon National Park if the weather cooperates...(one day is enough IMHO unless you take the cave tour...)

Considering the potentially bad weather, be SURE to take in Death Valley AND Joshua Tree National Parks where it will be warm and wonderful. Both parks are very unique with much to offer!!

It also sounds like you'll have enough time to explore more of the southwest; if you need more ideas, just ask!

Have a great trip!
