Yosemite Valley-Smoke/poor air quality?

Thanks for the report. I have not recommended the Ahwahnee restaurant for food, since my one visit in 2014. It's always worth having a look at the historic building, though.
Like other National Parks, hotels and food outlets are operated by concession, in this case Aramark. I think everything has gone downhill (even more) since they took over in 2016 from Delaware North.
Apparently there were so many complaints that the Auto Club dinged the Ahwahnee a "Diamond", so they are down to three diamonds now.
We liked the old Camp Curry cafeteria, but it's closed and won't be the same under Aramark anyways.
Congrats on your hikes. The last time I visited, I only walked up to the bridge on the way to Vernal/Nevada Falls, and thought "I don't remember this being so steep!"

visiting yosemite
we are planning a trip at the end of Sept. I called the ahwanee front desk and was told that you can eat there (as a walk in) even if you are not staying at the hotel, and that the wait for a table is normally not long..
