Yosemite to Vegas

We will be driving from Yosemite to Las Vegas at the end of August. Has anyone done this trip and if so how long a trip is it? Thanks for your help!

From Yosemite Valley?
From the Valley the "fastest" way is probably (depending on the fire that's got 140 closed) out 140 to 99 to 58 in Bakersfield and then I-15 in Barstow to Vegas.
Figure 2 hours from when 140 joins 99 to Bakersfield, about 2 more hours to Barstow and about 2.5 from Barstow to Vegas.

IF you have time and want a more scenic drive, take 120 over Tioga Pass into Lee Vining and turn south on 395. Stop in Mammoth Lakes, Bishop and Lone Pine if you have time. Stay on 395 to junction of 58 then on to I-15 as before.
If you're starting in the Valley I'd allow 3 hours at least to reach Lee Vining. From there it is 4.5-5 hours to junction of 58.
Personally I'd break this latter trip into 2 days with an overnight in Mammoth, Bishop or Lone Pine.

Thanks, the scenic route over 2 days sounds good. I'll see if we have the time.
