Yosemite rental homes/condos

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone out there has ever rented a home or condo when visiting Yosemite National Park. I'm going with four other people in May and thought it might be easier to do this, but am not sure how close any of them might be to the valley or how convenient in terms of ammenities (towels, kitchen supplies, etc.)Thanks for your help.

Hi,

We rented a home last summer through Yosemite 4 Seasons. It was actually nicer than we expected. All linens, towels are provided. Also basic assortment of kitchen supplies (cooking supplies, dishes and silverware but not food or dry goods). The office had extra jars of spices, ketchup etc. if you forget something. It is a long drive to the nearest supermarket. I'm sure they let you know exactly what they and do not provide.

The drive to Yosemite Valley was about 20 minutes. It was a great. quiet, pretty location. Would stay there again in a second.

Susan

I booked a cabin via yosemitewest.com which has several cabins for rent and a B&B. The place was immaculate and to the same standards as John mentioned above. Lots of kitchen equipment etc and the "essentials" - coffee, butter etc.Ours also had an outside barbecue and hot tub! bliss

Check it out as the cost per night (we paid $140 per night) would seem quite reasonable split 4 ways.

There website, like has small "movies" t
If its any help,we drove in from Fresno and the accommodation was approximately 20 minutes drive to the valley floor. Also wise to stock up on food and gas before you enter the valley.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help so far- I was looking into a rental place called Yosemite Scenic Wonders. The houses look nice enough to fit all of us comfortably. Has anyone ever stayed in one of their properties? Thanks again.

we've stayed twice in cabins down in the south end of the park by Wawona. The area is called The Redwoods. They rent cabins of all sizes, rather rustic, but walking distance to a river, great for families. They have a website, just type in The Redwoods. About 25 minute drive to the Valley, but the location is in the park. A small grocery store is also walking distance

The Redwoods in Yosemite are anything but rustic. We rented a house that was very nice 3 bdr 3bth plus game room. The Deer came down every day for a visit. They have very nice houses the more money you pay the nicer the house.
