Yosemite lodging

Hi,
I waited too long to book rooms in the park for 10/27-30.
Can you suggest somewhere convenient/good outside the park.
Thanks,
CCF

If you have tried www.yosemitepark.com for lodging and they have none suitable for you then try the Yosemite View Lodge which is in El Portal and is an easy drive through Arch Rock entrance into the vally.

Check out the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp, a 4 star destination resort. ***kim*** ((#))

I have stayed several times at the Tenaya Lodge and it is indeed a lovely place to stay. If you don't like a long drive into the valley though you may not be happy with the location of the Tenaya Lodge.

Tenaya is full. We would prefer to stay close to the park.

Try looking at Yosemite West Condos. Looks like they have availability on your dates. They are not on the Valley Floor but are inside the park. Really not a long drive to anything in the park.

We stayed in the Studio condo but they have bigger ones if there is more than 2 of you. One thing I liked about them was that you get a kitchen, etc so you can eat in or at least bring supplies for breakfast and lunch. Don't which way you are coming into the park but make sure you stop for groceries before you enter. There is a store there but I found it to be pretty expensive.

Scenic Wonders does the reservations for Yosemite West along with reservations for other cabins, etc. You can also look directly at the Yosemite West webpage but I think you have to call them for your reservation.

Yosemite View Lodge. Get a room with a jacuzzi and a balcony that looks out on the Merced River.

Yosemite View Lodge looks very nice but it was expensive when we went to Yosemite. That's why we picked the Yosemite West condos but we were happy with the facilities and the location. It was nice not to have to drive in and out of the park everyday but I would think in Oct there shouldn't be lines at the entrances.

What's so odd is that we all say Yosemite View, only 1 vote for Tenaya Lodge and the OP has only addressed availabity at Tenaya. Wonder if all our Yosemite View Lodge recommendations are being "heard" ?

I assume that there is no interest in a Curry Village Heated Tent Cabin with breakfast included for $84.90 per night?

Mariposa is a 40 minute ride on the the shuttle to Yosemite, and we loved the little Mariposa Inn there. We would do that again, as we stayed at Yosemite Lodge one night, and it was terrible ...

Well it sounds like CCF has plenty of options so hopefully he/she will come back to this thread.

We just returned from Yosemite and got last minute rooms in the park (by the Mariposa Grove) the Wawona Hotel (sp?). It was great, historical, priced right, and includes a wonderful breakfast. In the evenings there is a talented musician entertaining in the lobby--plenty of seating with drinks in hand it makes for a nice way to unwind. . .
the room is very "dated"--no tv, telephone, etc. We loved it!
