Yosemite in October??!!
Hi,
Hoping to visit yosemite in october but we have heard downs of visiting during this month.. Any good reasons to go in october? |
The main arguement against Yosemite in October is that the waterfalls are not flowing as much. But there is a ton more to Yosemite than waterfalls. It is a beautiful place any time of year and unlike in the summer, you wont have to deal with the peak crowds.

October is a great time to go.I've been to Yosemite in every season. As november-moon said, the waterfalls are barely flowing. In October it will be a little cooler weather and less crowded. You'll see the California Fall colors and the lighting is beautiful in the fall.

We love Yosemite in October! Daytime temperatures are usually very pleasant, and it gets cold after the sun goes down to remind you that you're in the mountains.
Lodging reservations inside the park can be hard to get at any time of the year, so you should look into availability as soon as possible. |
Thanks! Now I'm really encouraged to see Yosemite in all her beauty. Where shall I stay? Camping is not an option for me :)

You should visit the National Parks website, review the accomodation options, and book.

I'd probably stay in the Yosemite Lodge, right in the valley. This will give you the maximum time to see the park - as opposed to staying in the southern end of the park or outside the park. Or, if your budget allows - the Awhanee is great.

I heard that staying within the park is really expensive and I'm afraid it's way above my budget :(
|
Well, did you check the site?
Then you can always google for Yosemite Lodging to find accomodations outside the park. It always helps if you describe your budget to us in dollars. |
