Yosemite in May

Going to Yosemite in early May(?)or late may(?)for photographs. Can't hike very much. don't to how to get around in the park (car? shuttle?). Weather in May? Any and all responses will be appreciated. Probably should stay in the park (need sunrise/sunsets). Is Yosemite Valley the place to be?

April and May are beautiful times in Yosemite. The weather can be warm enough for shorts or cold enought to snow so go prepared!

The valley is where you will want to be for the best pictures. The free shuttle buses will get you around parts of the valley and you can drive to other scenic areas. A lot of hiking isn't needed.

You should make reservations now if you want to stay in Yosemite Valley.

None of these pictures of mine were taken on a hike:

Your pictures are beautiful. I tried to copy the El Capitan one to use as background on my computer. It shows it in "my pictures" file but when I try to put it into my background, it's no longer in "my pictures" Honestly, what I know about computers sometimes fills a thimble! Anyway, great shots!!

cd,

I'm no computer wiz either but if you want to use one of my pictures as your wallpaper, then go to the picture on the internet, left click your mouse, and hit set as background.

Thanks Utahtea for El Capitan. I was awed by El Capitan when in Yosemite. I do have it as background, I just wanted to have the picture on my computer so that when I changed background pictures I would not lose the picture. Thanks again,it is beautiful.

May is one of the best times of the year for taking photographs, perhaps the best. The waterfalls are flowing at their glorious peaks.

Last year we were in Yosemite in May and are going back again this year. It was terrific.

The weather was nice last year - shorts one day, mostly long pants and t-shirts, sweatshirt in the evennings. Hopefully we will be that lucky again this year!

The valley was absolutely beautiful. The waterfalls were running full force and there were wildflowers everywhere. We took Hwy 140 into the valley from Merced and there were wildflowers all along our route.

If you can, definitely stay in the valley. It is wonderful to wake up in that environment.

We don't hike a lot either, but we saw plenty of scenery. My husband loves photography and he got some great shots.
