yosemite and tahoe in June

What kind of hiking clothes should we pack when hiking in Yosemite and Lake Tahoe in mid June? Will we need multiple layers/ fleece jacket like we did in Yellowstone last June? Or is it usually warmer?
Thanks for your tips!

Depends on the year (some are warmer than others), and what altitudes you want to hike at, but generally yes you're going to need layers in June for both Tahoe and Yosemite.

I would plan on warmer weather, but still bring layers. Just bring some warmer weather clothes as part of those layers. You may want shorts during the day - I have been to Lake Tahoe in June when it was downright hot. At night, it generally cools off significantly.

At the higher elevations, such as Tuolumne Meadows, it can be near freezing at night. TM is at 8600 ft. Make sure to bring some layers for the morning and evening hours.

Yosemite valley will be warm enough for shorts. As said about Tahoe, hard to know. Could be nice enough for shorts during the day but probably coldish in the shade.

These places will all get cold without the Sun.

We were in Tahoe last June and we were able to swim a few days. As others have said it does cool down at night.
We went to an evening wedding on the beach and were very comfortable in light pants and long sleeves.
