Yosemite
Has anyone stayed at or heard anything about the Peregrine B & B in Yosemite West? Thanks.

Nope, sorry, never heard of Peregrine. However, we stayed at a house in Yosemite through yosemitelodgings.com and it was fun--had a hot tub, pool table, etc.

Don't miss eating dinner at the Ahwanee Lodge restaurant. You need a reservation. It is very nice and very, very good.

Shel

I haven't stayed there but friends have. Apparently it is a very modern home with great rooms - I think the rates are in the $150-$175 range.

Hi,

Yes, I stayed at a condo in that area. I remember seeing that B&B. It looked very nice. I would recommend staying anywhere in Yosemite West over anywhere in the park itself. Yosemite West is not technically in the park, it is located right outside of it. It is a very quiet area, away from crowds. We were really glad we stayed in this area, since the park was quite hectic, and from the accomodations that I saw there, everything in Yosemite West looked much nicer, plus we had all moderen conveniences except A/C. Yosemite West has 2 condo buildings, that B&B, and the rest are private residences. No stores at all.

Thank you for your input and suggestions!

One minor correction - Yosemite West/Peregrine IS in the Park - it is not in the Valley (which many folks think is all there is to Yosemite Nat'l Park)

Yosemite Valley is a tiny part of the park.
|
To be REALLY picky- Yosemite West is not IN the park, but I think you can only get there THROUGH the park.

Dear Liz,

Thank you for your support about the location of Yosemite West. (All you have to do is look at a park map, and it is plain to see that the area IS located OUTSIDE of the park, janis.) I hestitated to say that you can only get there by going through the park because when I was driving around the area, there was another road that went down the mountain. I did not take it, so I don't know where it leads to.
