The tickets are to be on sale next Sunday for the regualr public, So for once Amex has come thru. Yipeeeee |
Where are these tickets? Are Nathan and Matthew both doing this show, I'd love to see it!! Just curious.

This show is so outrageous I can't believe it...lol. My friend just saw it in L.A. on Saturday night and says her stomach still hurts from laughing..Whatever you paid for tickets it's well worth it... We saw Lane's stand-in here in Boston...Listen carefully for the voice of Mel Brooks...

You are so lucky. I was trying yesterday to buy 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' tickets on-line and couldn't get through. Finally called and was told the Ticketmaster site had been jammed by all the 'Producers' ticket activity. Out of curiosity I put in a 'Producers' request later in the day and got a prompt that said the site had been taken down b/c it couldn't handle the volume. Amazing.

Yes Nathan Land and Matthew Broderick are returning to their original roles on Broadway for a limited 14 week run beginning the last few days of December. They are each being paid a record breaking $100,000 per week for this run. (If the math is hard, that's a total of $ 1,400,000. each for roles they already know and don't need to rehearse).
I saw them do it on Broadway and loved them both. Then I saw Jason Alexander and Martin Short do it in LA. Nathan Lane, in my opinion, overpowers Matthew Broderick, and Marin Short really overpowers Jason Alexander. Now what I want to see is Nathan Lane WITH Martin Short. Don't get me wrong, I loved Matthew Broderick and his nerdiness when I saw him, but Martin Short was incredibly funnier! And while I expected to like Jason Alexander more than Lane since he is both a better singer and dancer, I didn't. I guess when all was said and done, who cares about the singing and dancing -- that's not what the character of Max Bialystock is all about. |
Nathan Land is the not-so-famous understudy for the more famous Nathan Lane. Sorry for the typo.
We are seeing the Producers on Sat. night Dec. 27th---Very much looking forward to it. Are Nathan Lane and Mathew Broderick in the show then?
Sorry, sam. I read that Lane and Broderick aren't returning till Dec. 30.
We saw Lane and Broderick in there previews in Chicago and they were spectacular. Just saw it again with there understudies and it was still great. The better your seats are the more enjoyable it is. We had better seats the second time and didn't realize how many of the sight gags we missed the first time being too far from the stage.

Just a little bit of Producers trivia followup to Patrick's comments about Martin Short and Nathan Lane: Reportedly, Martin Short was the producers' first choice for the role of Bloom.
Interestin comments, Patrick. I saw Lane and Broderick during their original run and thought the exact same thing. I was a little underwhelmed with Broderick's performance, though one could argue it fit the role. I would love, however, to see Martin Short's performance because he seems to bring so much energy (perhaps a bit over the top at times?) to every role he plays. I'd pay extra to see Lane and Short.
travelis, similar comment with a twist-I thought the actor currently in Chicago playing Max's role was better than Nathan Lane. I know that's blasphemy to some but Max is supposed to be a womanizer and Lane was just a little too "Birdcage" for such a role. Broderick was definately stronger than the Leo actor though.
I missed the Producers when it opened with Lane/Broderick in Chicago. However, I saw it a few weeks ago in New York and I loved it. I didn't recognize the stars but they were very good.
So how impossible will it be to get tickets for a March visit when they go on sale to the public this weekend???? Guesses?
Very difficult!
My friend said that Martin Short did a "bit" in one scene that stops the show...whether planned or not.. We actually got 9th row orchestra on the aisle seats by walking up to the box office and asking for seats within a given time frame.. it seems our seats were "house seats" and had just been turned in..You never know

Forget about using websites to get tickets to something popular. They will often be jammed and useless. Call a Ticketmaster office in a small city or town....like in Oklahoma or Texas. Be as nice as you can be and persuade them to sell you what you want.
I'm not an expert at this computer stuff, but if Ticketmaster was handling Producers tickets and you called a Ticketmaster office in Oklahoma, wouldn't that representative be on the same website to find what's available as you'd be on doing it yourself?
Unfortunately, Telecharge is handling "The Producers" so I don't think this method will work.
I tried for 4 hours on Sunday morning and couldn't bust through. :-( I have bid on 2 tickets on ebay ! Will probably try again on Sunday for tickets.
