Yet another Big Island lodging question

Does anyone know anything about the Hale Kai O'Kona complex? It looks like a small oceanfront complex of townhouses, near Kona by the Sea. I found it via a link posted on this website, listing a bunch of lodging links found in a recent issue of Hawaii (I think that was the name) magazine. The link is to an owner's website, www.konatownhome.com.

I am overwhelmed by the number of choices; right now, I'm considering Kanaloa at Kona, Kona by the Sea, Mauna Lani Point, or a home. There's a 2BR oceanfront cottage on the konahawaii.com website called Hale Poma Na Ke Kai, but they are a little vague about the price ("$200 up"), and want $300-400 for cleaning, which seems like a real rip-off (making me leary about renting from this agency!). I need 2BR (2 couples, no kids), and any advice is welcome.

Thanks
Diane

I believe I saw those recently and they looked a bit run down. Probably due to the elements.

Good location though.

I have stayed at Kanaloa at Kona and loved it. You can book through Outrigger direct or some of the units are privately owned. We did ours throught Sunquest, and did not have maid service, and paid a cleaning fee of I think $90. Our condo was nice.
I would look into it. I am going back to the same complex, different condo in Oct.
Have fun!
