Dave: I don't know if this is the best place, but we flew into Cody and rented a car and drove. Kathy

Cody or Jackson Hole.

Jackson, Wyoming, West Yellowstone, Montana, and Cody, Wyoming are the closest place I know of with commercial flights. Delta has scheduled flights from Salt Lake City to West Yellowstone, so it can be reached quite easily. But in my experience those tickets are rarely at bargain fares. If you are like me, I look for bargains. So some other possibilities are: Billings, Bozeman, and Pocatello (Idaho). Missoula and some other places are a little farther away. But 200 to 300 miles out there is usually an easy drive. I figure 200 miles can be done in 4 hours or so. <BR>Don't overlook Billings because the drive to Yellowstone can take you over the Beartooth Highway, which is spectacular to say the least.

The Beartooth highway is spactaculat but is closed in the winter so Billings is not a good choice. To enter Yellowstone from the north or west entrances another idea you might check out is Butte, montana--about 3 hours from the Park.

I agree with Ali - the bearstooth is spectacular but closed frequently - even in June. I like Billings to fly into and you could drive to many great towns - love Redlodge, Mt. - it is great.

Bozeman , Montana - a beautiful drive to Yellowstone - Big Sky right off the highway - great skiing - beautiful !!!
