Yellowstone Packing list
Hi everyone-
We are traveling to YGTNP in July for 9 days. Does anyone have a packing list that they wouldn't mind sharing? I KNOW what to take...I just was wondering- if before i started typing it up....someone had a template already made that I could use and edit. Thanks in advance. |
Not sure what you are asking for.
All you ABSOLUTELY need are clothes for warm days and potentially cold nights, and a camera. If you're only viewing YGTNP from inside your car, those will be fine. If you doing a one week backpacking trip, that's a different matter. My GUESS is that you'll be doing something in-between those two. Problem is, we don't know. What do you normally take when you make a multi-day trip to a major national park? Give us that info, and we'll probably be able to tell you what to add or remove. |
Add binoculars, hiking boots, hat and poles if hiking, rain gear, sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
Are you camping or staying in a lodge? |
Truly- I was just seeing if there was a template...I was making a check list for my kids (and my mother) and being a teacher...we always check to see if it's already created before...inventing it ourselves...I KNOW what to bring..just didn't feel like making the checklist...I guess some would call that lazy :-) I call it resourceful...thanks though!!

Well, different packing list for different kinds of trips.
Are you staying in a lodge? Are you camping-car camping? Are you backpacking? Are you driving there or flying? Do you plan on doing any fly-fishing, rafting, or swimming? If I were doing much hiking(many of trails with lots of people wouldn't require this), I would invest in bear spray. |

If you are not bringing hiking boots, at least wear some shoes with decent lugs on the bottom--not smooth bottoms. You will have to walk a little ways to some sites and in some places the ground is like talcum powder--very slick and the area is a little hilly. The lugs will make you feel more secure and you won't be slipping around.
