Yellowstone Packing list
 

Hi everyone-
We are traveling to YGTNP in July for 9 days. Does anyone have a packing list that they wouldn't mind sharing? I KNOW what to take...I just was wondering- if before i started typing it up....someone had a template already made that I could use and edit.

Not sure what you are asking for.

All you ABSOLUTELY need are clothes for warm days and potentially cold nights, and a camera. If you're only viewing YGTNP from inside your car, those will be fine.

If you doing a one week backpacking trip, that's a different matter.

My GUESS is that you'll be doing something in-between those two. Problem is, we don't know. What do you normally take when you make a multi-day trip to a major national park? Give us that info, and we'll probably be able to tell you what to add or remove.

Add binoculars, hiking boots, hat and poles if hiking, rain gear, sunscreen and mosquito repellent.

Are you camping or staying in a lodge?

Truly- I was just seeing if there was a template...I was making a check list for my kids (and my mother) and being a teacher...we always check to see if it's already created before...inventing it ourselves...I KNOW what to bring..just didn't feel like making the checklist...I guess some would call that lazy :-) I call it resourceful...thanks though!!

Well, different packing list for different kinds of trips.
Are you staying in a lodge?
Are you camping-car camping?
Are you backpacking?
Are you driving there or flying?

Do you plan on doing any fly-fishing, rafting, or swimming?

If I were doing much hiking(many of trails with lots of people wouldn't require this), I would invest in bear spray.

If you are not bringing hiking boots, at least wear some shoes with decent lugs on the bottom--not smooth bottoms. You will have to walk a little ways to some sites and in some places the ground is like talcum powder--very slick and the area is a little hilly. The lugs will make you feel more secure and you won't be slipping around.
