Yellowstone in May?

We will be meeting some friends in Idaho for the last 2 weeks of May. I was hoping to visit Yellowstone while there. Will the roads be open? And will it be worth seeing that time of year? I have been finding some conflicting info.

The best place to find information is at the source. Here is the link to the offical Yellowstone National Park and at the bottom it shows the approx. opening dates for April and May 2004.

We were there the first week of June a couple of years ago and all the roads were open and clear.

I would think enough of the roads would be open for you to see many of the areas.

I was there around the same time in May and saw plenty. You will be fine.

I just returned from YNP in early October and was overwhelmed with the conflicting information as well. It all made sense when I saw the magnitude of the beauty & size.Reservations are necessary but relax and you'll enjoy.Old Faithful-area geysers should be first on your list but Grand Teton National Park south of Yellowstone is a close second. You have road info sources above but you should be fine.
