Yellowstone in July

We will be traveling to Yellowstone and Tetons in July. We will be staying three nights in Yellowstone and two nights in the Tetons. Please give some suggestions on things to see, places to eat, the best chuckwagon meal, etc. This is our first time going and we are very excited. I have read lots of information. There seems to be alot to see and do. Please give us some info on the best things to see and do in the length of time we are there.

The hike above Jenny Lake in the Tetons is awesome. The river raft trip in the Tetons is very calm, too calm. Accomodations and meals at the Yellowstone Hotel are exceptional. The sights at Yellowstone are spectacular. We also did a river raft trip outside the park near Yellowstone which was exciting. We took this trip several years ago when our kids were 7 and 9 and did a family journal that we each wrote in daily. Such fun to read now. One of our top family vacations!

The Moose - Wilson near Jackson road is a scenic drive where we saw 5 black bear last year.

Take the cowboy dinner ride at Jackson Lake Lodge. You'll probably see moose on your way out. The food is good, the songs are fun. If you have kids, they'll love it.

If you get to ride Big Lou, give him a pat on the rump for me!

Also, plan around the ranger program. You'll learn a great deal about the history, geology and culture of the area.

cowboy dinner ride at Jackson Lake Lodge? Do you need to stay at the lodge to join / reserve for this ride? Does this lodge have a website or where is it? Sounds interesting. Just beginning to plan my trip.

Syv,

I don't believe you need to be a guest at the Lodge...we weren't. Go here:

http://www.gtlc.com/

to find out more.

Also, when we were there, we stayed at Colter Bay Village and were delighted.

You will make memories at GTNF and YNP.
