Considering that you need to arrive at the airport fairly early to stand in line, you need to consider the length of the drive and your time of departure.
Cheyenne is about 100 miles from Denver, but the airport is now well away from the center of Denver. IF!! the new extension of E470 from I 25 east is now complete, you can get to the airport a lot easier. I hope someone will tell us if that new section of road is now open. If it is still under construction there is another ploy. If you approach Denver from Cheyenne, look for state route 7 exit, EAST. Follow 7 to US 85. Turn south to where it hits E470, a superhightway. follow that to thew jdunction with the interstate spur that leads to the new airport. This avoids a lot of Denver traffic and it is shorter. The best way would be if the new section of 470 is open. I am sure someone can tell us. |
Thanks, bob_brown, for the info regarding travel to the Denver airport. From home, we routinely go 100+ miles to a major hub to save $ but it really helps to know if there are traffic burps en route.
I checked the Denver airport website but they had no illuminating information. We're far enough out in travelling to keep an eye on it. Again, kudos to fodorites. You can't get this stuff in a book, even the good ones. |
