Yellowstone/Grand Teton trip-air and lodging

Greetings,
First of all, thank you all of you. I have learned alot from reading your e-mails and getting Frommers book. There is also a wonderful National Geographic Park Profile book on the parks.
We are going to both parks in September. Anyone stayed at the Trapper Inn in Jackson?
Where did you fly in to toget to both parks and back?
Thanks.

I am not familar with the Trapper Inn in Jackson but would not suggest you stay in Jackson if it's the Tetons and Yellowstone that you are travelling to.

The most convenient flight plan is to fly into Cody and out of Jackson, if you are doing Yellowstone first. Reverse the order if you are doing the Grand Teton first.

We stayed at the Trapper Inn for the first and last nights of our trip because our flight got in late and left very early. We had 2 clean rooms each time but the quality varied immensely - one had a kitchenette, another was a suite with 3 beds, for the same price. For just a place to sleep, it was acceptable.
I booked the rooms from a web site (i've forgotten the name). I did not know there was a service charge until I asked for a receipt on checking out the first time. There was also a discrepancy between what I was charged and what the Inn charges, even accounting for the service charge. If you can, call the Inn directly.
The best flight I could get from JFK was into Jackson Hole. Then did Grand Teton NP first, Yellowstone, and returned to Jackson Hole by way of West Yellowstone and Idaho's Mesa Falls scenic byway.

Hi egoodwin
Jackson is a cute town and we stayed there our first night. We then stayed in The Tetons 2nights and then in Yellowstone Park 3nights. That may be your plan. I was under the impression when I wrote my post that you planned on staying in Jackson for the duration, making a lot of driving.
