Yellowstone/Grand Teton Camping Itinerary
 

Our family of 7 will be camping in Yellowstone/Grand Teton NP this June/July and I'm looking for itinerary advice. We are also including Badlands and Custer SP, but I have a good handle on that part of the trip.
We have one full day in the Badlands, and one full day at Custer.
We arrive at Fishing Bridge RV park around 4pm on Day 1. I'm hoping to set up camp/quick dinner and head out for some wildlife viewing that evening. But where?
Day 2: Full day in the park
Day 3: Check out of FB is at 10am, staying the remainder of our nights at Madison. We really wanted to be able to have campfires and eat outdoors. Our travel trailer is too long for any of the other campgrounds.
Should we do some early morning wildlife viewing before we pack up and go? Check in at Madison is 11am.
Remainder of the day itinerary?
We have to keep in mind that we need to work in showers on the remainder of the days as Madison does not have shower facilities.
Day 4: Full day in the park
Day 5: Full day in the park
Day 6: Pack up and move to Colter Bay in Grand Teton NP. Check out is 11am and check in is 4pm. Stops along the way need to keep in mind that we're pulling a large travel trailer.
Day 7: Full day at GT
Day 8: Full day at GT
Day 9: Jackson, including rodeo (A Wednesday)
Day 10: Full day at GT
Day 11: depart for home

The drive between Fishing Bridge and Canyon goes through Hayden Valley so I'd try your luck there the first day. The other area that's good for wildlife viewing is along the northern road which goes through Lamar Valley. The area around Tower/Roosevelt can be good for black bears. Last year the visitors center at Canyon had a recent sightings board.

Try tagging this for Wyoming--you will get more traffic for Yellowstone and GTNP. Also, click on my user name and see trip reports for Yellowstone and Jackon/GTNP with kids.

You won't need a full day at the Badlands unless you're planning a long hike. With a few hours, you'll see plenty on the drive, plus have time for several of the trails and overlooks. Then take the back roads out of the Badlands toward Hermosa. You'll get to see more formations and usually some prairie dogs and buffalo too. Then add what's left of that day on to Custer. The Wildlife Loop is great and don't miss Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road.
