Yellowstone & Jackson

We will be visiting Yellowstone and Jackson for 2 nights in a couple of weeks and I have several questions.

Would like to stay in Jackson both nights and travel to Yellowstone for a one day visit. Has anyone done this and wished they had stayed in Yellowstone atleast one night or is Jackson a good way to go for 2 nights.

Will the weather hold up in mid October. Don't mind snow if it happens.

Any recommendations for a nice clean hotel near Jackson square for two adults.

Thanks in advance....

Steve

Steve - I don't have a hotel recommendation, but I can tell you from experience that you will regret it if you try just to do day trip out of Jackston to Yellowstone. I did it while camping at Grand Teton and I was barely able to get up to Old Faithful and then come back to Tetons in a day becuase there is so much to see along the way and the speed limits are low and enforced. Spend a night in Yellowstone.
