What are the best hotels to stay in - inside each of the parks?

Hotels in the park are very limited. And, depending on your dates, could be limited in availability. Reservations for summer 2018 open on May 1, 2017.

We just returned from an early July trip. Stay in the Lake Yellowstone Hotel for three nights and three night in the Old Faithful Inn. The Lake Yellowstone was the nicest having just been remodeled to the tune of about 20 million give or take a couple bucks. The Old Faithful Inn is historic and is, of course, very handy for seeing Old Faithful frequently and the basin. The rooms in both hotels are at best at 2 or 3 star hotel -- small, dated but clean and convenient. The hotel restaurants are decent but not great. You are going for the ambience and not a high end resort. Old Faithful Inn is more centrally located in the park while L Yellowstone is on the south end. We did not get to Mammoth Springs.

Having stayed in several areas in the park about 10 months ago, I'd recommend both Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs for a great deal more of interest than at Lake.

It depends on what you mean by the word "best." We started with the premise that the hotels in Yellowstone were all worth looking into. We ended up splitting our time between the Old Faithful Lodge and the Lake Yellowstone Hotel. The main reason were their locations, which offered the opportunity to cover pretty much the entire park conveniently.

As for the Grand Teton, there are three hotels--Jenny Lake Lodge, Signal Mountain Lodge and Jackson Lake Lodge. We eliminated the Jenny Lake Lodge as it was too expensive for (but we did have a wonderful meal there). We ended up at the Jackson Lake which seemed best suited to our needs. Any one of the three are good. It depends on how much you want to spend.

So, the question again is, "What does 'best' mean to you?"
