What is the easiest transportation to get from Times Square area to a the Yankee Stadium? Is there a good place to eat at the stadium?

You've been to a baseball game before? What is your definition of "a good place to eat?"

We have not been to Yankee Stadium before. This is something our granddaughter wanted to do on Saturday. A good place to eat is good food and not cost $100. Is there a restaurant or café at the stadium?

Theres a Hard Rock at the Stadium. Everything is outrageously priced there and in the Stadium

Take the subway. If memory serves me correct you have two choices:

1) From the Times Square/42nd St. Station take either the #1,#2 or #3 train uptown to 59th/Columbus Circle and change to the B or D uptown train to 161St./Yankee Stadium.

2) Take Shuttle or #7 Train from Time Square to Grand Central Station and change to the #4 Uptown train to 161st. St./Yankee Stadium.

Subway is the only sensible way to go - unless you are coming from the suburbs by car (then go VERY early - parking takes forever)

There are a number of restaurants there - as well as the usual stadium stuff - hog dogs and chicken fingers. If you go to the stadium website you can see the restaurants, menus and prices.

The subway is not the only way to go. You can take the Metro North Hudson line which stops at Yankee Stadium. It's a little more expensive than the subway, but more comfortable and probably less crowded. And, you don't have to change trains. (It's an easy walk from the hotel to Grand Central for the train.)

I would recommend the stadium branch of the Manhattan Nolita restaurant, PARM. Their sandwiches are legendary. Try the meatball sandwich or chicken parmigiana. Between gates 4 and 6.

Options have been upgraded in recent years and there is much more than franks and fries!

The Lobel stand is another good option for meat lovers.
