Going to NYY game in August. NYY website states Monument Park closes 45 minutes before games, but no mention of after.
Does anyone know if MP is open after games?

Dont know for sure, but I would guess not...they proably want to get everyone out of the park and let the employees go home. And they are very serious about closing it b4 gametime. Personally I wasnt impressed with it, but to DH and baseball loving sons, it was a shrine

I can only be helpful for day games that start at 1:00. The Stadium opens at 11. Be at the correct gate for MP by 10:30 (the latest). The gate, I think, is #2 in Left Field (but don't quote me).

They will let you in & collect (scan) your game ticket & march anyone going to MP up a ramp. Anyone else just goes to their seats to watch batting practice.

Then you march down the ramp & into the seat area closest to MP. The line moves quickly & you don't have alot of time to linger but it is totally worth it.

If you are not on the ramp line at 11 when the stadium opens, MP will theoretically still be open but they will really not let anyone else on the ramp line as it is then "full". Cannot go after a game is over.

No - it is NOT open after games. Only before and closes 45 minutes before.

There are also tours that include monumnet park - separate from games - but I've heard they're sold out unless you go early and stand on line.

Given this is the last year for the Stadium, I would suggest you plan on getting in the gate as soon as it opens. They will shut down the line for monument park well before the 45 minute close time. (At least they did last year when I went.)

DO NOT try to bring a backpack or daypack into the stadium!! They will not let you, you must check it and that is time consuming and expensive.

Don't try to bring anything larger than a regular size purse - and expect to thave that searched.

Yankee Stadium is a prime terrorism target and security is VERY strict. And definitely don;t try to bring in any alcohol.

Thank you very much for the helpful advice about security. Myself and many other people read these messages to learn about travel on this public website - questions and answers aren't just for one person - that's what private emails and chatrooms are for.

I wouldn't have thought about leaving my daypack at the hotel unless you had offered that info. Much appreciated.

My first answer very specifically answered your question. (But, perhaps you neglected to read that.

My second post was reinforcing the info about security - which is news to many people who live in cities in which terrorism is not a problem.

I am so sorry if a part of my answer strayed outiside the sacred precints of your question.

If you don't want to read past what you think you need to know, no one is holding a gun to your nead.

I can only suggest you refrain from asking quetions of the general public if you plan on being so rude to anyone who adds anything YOU don't want to know.
