XMas Show-Radio City what to wear?

We will seeing the show over Thanksgiving weekend. How dressed up should we be for a matinee performance? Is casual wear acceptable?

Yes, casual wear is acceptable. You will probably see people there wearing blue jeans. Slacks and a sweater are fine.

Wear anything. I like to dress up to a reasonable extent when going to the theater (to make it feel like the special experience that it is), but you will see all sorts of fashion ideas at a NY show.

Folks will be wearing anything and everything. Best bet is to dress for whatever you're doing before or after.

Do dress warmly, so as to be comfortable while out and about.

A matinee of the radio city shows hardly qualifies as theater. This is like a movie. Dress accordingly.

I beg to differ. Radio City Music Hall is an institution and should be treated as such.

Last time we saw something at Radio City, it was Riverdance:)
Most people there were dressed a little better than movie theater casual.
There were quite a few men in jackets and ties, but they may have been coming in from work. Ladies wore slacks, sweaters, or dresses.
I always felt that just because you will see someone in jeans, that does not especially mean that is what you Should wear.
Of course, there will be young people in jeans with their backpacks, they are spending what little money they have on the experience, but are not bringing the clothes .. that is fine. But if you can dress a little better than that, why not?
It is a beautiful theater!

The Music Hall is an institution - a movie palace - for most of its' hisotory that was its primary purpose. This is not the opening of the Met and formal attire is not required.

The show is wonderful. Casual is okay to wear. Last year when we saw the show they checked us in line for any food items - we had bought a sandwich for the ride home on the bus because we did not have a lot of time when the show was over to get something. We either had to eat it before we went in
or throw it away. We did not have time to eat it - so it got tossed. It really did not make a lot of sense since they sell food inside the show.
Dress warm!

when we made our reservation, the ticket agent told us to be at least one hour before our show as they do search you before entering.
