Hello

I am going with my husband to be driving for 5-6 days between Jackson Hole, Wy and Denver in the second week of July

Any suggestions for must see places (beside Yellowstone, snake river, and Rocky Mountain national parks)I am even thinking about Utah

any suggestions for reasonable places to stay

Thanks

I just read that the Quarry at Dinosaur National Monument has been closed, but the park is still very scenic and so is the drive between Flaming Gorge and Vernal, Utah.

Moab is the place where you will want to spend a couple of days exploring Arches and Canyonlands National Park. When you exit Moab take scenic Hwy 128 back to Cisco and I-70. I-70 in Colorado has to be one of the most scenic Interstates!

In Colorado you might want to stop at Colorado National Monument between Fruita and Grand Junction, Colorado.

http://www.nps.gov/bica/ .. Near Lovell, stop at the visitors center at the Jct of US-14A and US-310.

... then take US14A east up and over the Bighorn Mountains and stop and take the mile or so hike to the Medicine Wheel.

Don't know how long you are in Denver, but if you are still there on the 20th or after, you may enjoy driving up to Cheyenne for Frontier Days rodeo

It's not a bad drive from Denver (if its not too windy) and the rodeo is amazing.

We drove to Jackson Hole from Salt Lake City up a canyon that was probably the prettiest drive of our 6 week trip through the west. It has been many years and I would assume this will be a "back road" now--maybe someone can supply the name.
